Principals Message
Mr. Marlon Louw, 2023 Principal
It is a God given privilege to welcome all to New Gen Academy. This a the Academy where you need to be. New Gen Academy is a private school that started in 2014 and is currently a combined, Primary and High School in Eldorado. The school is based on Christian principles.
With God’s grace, New Gen Academy’s class of 2022 achieved a 100% pass rate. Over the last few years New Gen Academy has established itself as an academic powerhouse in the Eldorado Park and the Johannesburg Central region with it’s results. This was possible because of the professional, experienced staff members/ teachers from Grade 1 to Grade 12, we are dedicated and committed to give our very best and sacrifice time for our learners. This commitment, dedication and perseverance rubbed off onto our learners, hence the success in all our Grades.
New Gen Academy don’t just focus on academics only. We offer various sporting codes to give our learners a balanced academic journey. With this being said it is clear to see why our slogan is “Sound mind, sound body”.
New Gen Academy is an E-Learning school encouraging our learnings to move with the trends in technology. Our class sizes are small and manageable to enable educators to focus on learners individual needs. Learners are taught in a highly disciplined and safe environment. We give emotional and psychological support to ensure our learners achieve their best in an ever changing world
Mrs. Sally Plessis, 2019 – 2022 Principal
My journey with New Gen Academy started at the beginning of 2017 with the first set of Matriculants but it was only in 2020 that I was appointed as the principal. I was baptised by the COVID pandemic into the principal ship The Lord accompanied me along this journey.
Elearning became mandatory for all educators and learners and much development on the ITSI, MS Teams, Google classroom platforms resulted. Parents and learners supported this development and through it all I was continually reminded by “Be still and know the I am God” I was not now only dealing with the teaching and learning challenges but also with health challenges. Private schools were closing and yet even with financial challenges, New Gen Academy was able to keep all its staff even though there was a drop in our learner numbers.
Our results in 2020, 2021 and 2022 speak for themselves as we improved and our learners did not have the gaps experienced elsewhere because teaching and learning continue throughout. I thank the Board, staff and learners for supporting and working together me as a team. I thank the Lord for undertaking. It was a great privilege to be the principal during those years and pray that the Lord will continue to be gracious to the family of New Gen Academy.
